About Us And Why We Believe We Offer The Best Choice of Underwear
Here at Smokin'Hot, we are dedicated to bringing everybody, the best in comfort, value, and the latest in underwear and lingerie style and design. We are constantly sourcing the latest in lingerie fabrics and underwear manufacturing techniques.
Our goal is to be the best underwear, lingerie and clothing label in Australia. To achieve this we believe that we have to supply all our customers with the best their money can buy.
Smokin'Hot Origins
My name is Mick Ikin, the idea of Smokin'Hot came to me about 2 years ago. At the time my then girlfriend, her teenage daughter and my 3 daughters all lived together..."As you do".... So after 3 or 4 days of rain, the first load of washing on the line was ..."You guessed it" a truckload of knickers and bra's. I jokingly said "I should go into the undies business".
This little joke planted a seed that over the next 12 months began to grow. I started searching on the net. Doing extensive market research, and just asking ladies and men "What do you want from your underwear?" I started to source manufacturers.
Most underwear and lingerie in Australia is manufactured in China. So after what seemed like a million emails, quality sampling from many Chinese lingerie manufacturers, and then me sending underwear samples to the selected few. I was off to China, to meet with the owners/managers of these underwear factories. There were 3 reasons for this trip.

To inspect the factories and qualify the standards of their human resources. I will not do business with sweat shops or people that employ child labour. And for all the 5 underwear factories that I toured, I am pleased to say that they all meet with these standards.

To learn more about the processes involved in the manufacture of garments, the selection of materials, and to emphasise that underwear quality is the most important factor of our business...Smokin' Hot will not accept anything less!

I attended the 105th 'Canton' trade fair. This exihibition is held in 3 stages over 4 weeks. I attended stage 3. The textiles/clothing section, where 1000's of lingerie, underwear and sleepwear manufacturers display. This has provided me with an enormous amount of inspiration, and provided me with business relations to enable Smokin' Hot to expand into a multifaceted clothing label, supplying underpants, bras, knicker sets, lingerie, sleepwear, caps, t-shirts, bikinis, towels and more.
Our First Seasons Underwear Range
The first range for our new business is built on tradition. We are stamping our mark with comfort and quality being the main focus. All the underwear styles that we are showcasing this year will dyed in bright fashionable colours, with the fine lace lingerie range being in soft pastels colours. There will be a choice of styles in the same colours so you can mix and match your own lingerie sets to suit your own style.
Our Future
Bamboo Lingerie
I am very excited about the excellent properties of this reasonably new fabric. Bamboo fabric absorbs up to 60% more water than cotton, is organically grown and certified, hypoallergenic and it is extremely environmentally friendly. I believe that this fibre will play a very important role in the future success of Smokin'Hot, and plans are underway to use this amazing new bamboo fabric in many of our underwear and lingerie product lines.
Our Community
For every pair of underpants, every bra and knickers set, every piece of lingerie and sleepwear that is sold at full price, I will donate 5% to an Australian charity. That's right every cap, t-shirt, bikini or towel sold at Smokin'Hot, if not discounted, a 5% donation to charity. After 12 months a different charity will receive donations. This is not a gimmick or an advertising ploy... it is our way of showing our support for Australia today, tomorrow and every day after that.
